January 2011

Happy 2011! I have a couple pictures from the past few weeks and one from Christmas. So, here I go!

Lucy sleeping on my teddy bears, she's been so tired lately because of the snow. Running through is 100x more strenuous than a regular run. You'd know this if you were an over-worked Brittany Spaniel, and by over-worked I mean professional napper.

This was from Christmas, at my Nana's house. I was clearly amusing myself.

I wouldn't classify myself as a peanut butter enthusiast, but I do love peanut butter. I went through a period where all of my lunches consisted of peanut butter sandwiches, JUST peanut butter. Most people don't find that appetizing, but I love it. So this newly opened jar is a beautiful thing for me.

I call this "Ominous Octagon", sort of a joke, but it fits. After my boyfriend and I got home from delivering newspapers, I was walking up the stairs to go to sleep around 7am, and I noticed, appreciated, and captured the foggy morning through the octagon.

.015 November/December

I apologize for the large gap between entries, again!! I'm going to try to be more diligent with this! Here are a couple recent shots I've got...

This must have been the very beginning of November. I love taking pictures of my backyard and comparing them when seasons change.

This was taken at a school I was doing retakes for. We got there pretty early in the morning, early enough to still see the moon. I love when I can see the moon on my way to work.

This was November 11, my boyfriend and I went to a concert in Boston and it was FANTASTIC! This is the confetti that fell about halfway through the show.

This was the same show on November 11, during the last song they released a wonderful amount of balloons on the audience.

My best friend and I went hiking a few weeks ago. We were up pretty high AND it was windy. I don't like (cold) wind, and I don't like heights... so I now know that hiking in November is not something I should do.

I took this about 2 weeks ago, I was getting ready for work and the sunrise was too gorgeous to neglect, especially when accented by my wind-chimes. So I captured it!

And finally.... this is my brother's new puppy, Bella. She's been spending a lot of time at my house since he works, although I can't really complain!

This is all I have for now! I'll keep updating as often as I can!

.014 October

First I'd like to apologize for the 2 month gap! September and October are normally the busiest months of the year for me since I take school pictures. A lot of waking up early, driving several hours, and working 13+ hour days doesn't leave much room for blogging, but I have taken pictures!

I took this one day after work. My brother had a fire going in the burning barrel in the backyard, and it was just perfect fall weather.

This is my fill light for my setup when I took pictures at a Rhode Island high school. It was the creepiest environment ever, the back corner of a stage. I thought it was pretty funny, though!

This was in a pizza shop I was getting lunch in when I took pictures in North Adams, MA. I thought the poster was really interesting. A little story for you about that North Adams school, we were set up in the hallway and my set up was next to a door, so I had it propped open to let a breeze in since it was warm in the building. Next thing I know, a DOG runs right in the door, hopes over all of our set ups, and takes off down the hall. So there I was, behind my camera with a line of 200+ high school freshmen and I just let an animal into the school. I decided to go after the dog and shoosh it out the door. It was young yellow lab. One of my favorite stories from that job, haha!

I have to say, though, I like this poster a lot better than the last one! I found it on the stage at a school in Westfield, MA. There was nothing around it that could be destroyed, really, so I'm wondering what it's original purpose was, or if the kids were geniunly worried that I was going to destroy their stage!

That's all for now, I'll try to be more diligent as the season slows down! Take care, everyone.

.013 Newman's Own Pout

This picture, to me, is priceless. This is my mom who clearly loves her grape juice. Unfortunately at this particular dinner there wasn't any left for her to enjoy. So what do you do when you're all out of delicious juice and left with a boring bottle of water? There are several options...

A) Pout
B) Furrow Brow
C) Slouch
D) All Of The Above

.012 Dog Diva

This is my dog, Lucy, showing off her attitude. I threw on the shades for her and she used my hand as a prop. She always knows how she wants her pictures to come out! :P

.011 Summertime Sunshine

This is my 7 year old niece, Mackenzie. I came home from work to find her and her mom visiting my house. So of course we played in the back yard! Evening sunshine in the summer is so fun to play in. I love this picture because of how the sun looks, and because Mackenzie is the sunshine in so many people's lives.

.010 A Light For Tom Petty

Last night was the Tom Petty concert with my youngest sister, Colleen, her boyfriend of 2 years, Tim, and my best friend, Stef. Tim actually bought Colleen the tickets for their 2 year anniversary. Seeing Tom Petty live was #3 on her list of things to do before she dies. Mission accomplished. The moon was perfect, the sky was clear, and they played all the right songs. Amazing experience. It makes me very grateful to have my family and my friends. When everything seems to be going ballistic either in my professional life or personal, this moment is going to stay with me forever. To know that for one night all of these people (and the tons of others that were there last night) shared one common interest with myself, we were all there for the music and the good times to be had, and they were most definitely had.

.009 Door

The other day my 7 year old niece, Mackenzie, asked me why I had so much stuff on my door and if I got in trouble for drawing on it. I told her no, I've been doing it for a while and that she could write something on it if she wanted to. So this is what she decided to write for me:

She's precious.

.008 Stef Braids My Hair

Stef gave me a french braid earlier this summer, I LOVE having my hair in a french braid. It's so contained and makes for less knots when I brush it.

.007 iAttitude

This is a screenshot from my iPhone. Sometimes it's so funny to give the nicest people you know an unnecessary attitude.

.006 iWake & iPhotograph

I took this earlier in the week before I left for work around 8am. Some flowers fell off the trumpet vines in the driveway onto the hood of Chelsea's truck because of the rain over night.

.005 Frenemies

First off, the credit to this photo goes to ... well ... all of us 3 sisters. Colleen took the photo with Chelsea's iPhone and I'm uploading it to my blog. Teamwork! Lately, Tony has been bringing his dog Flash over to hang out in our backyard while he works with Corey around the property. As much as Lucy and Flash love to be friendly dogs, Lucy can't help but be curious about Flash's intentions, seeing as this is her territory. Dogs are quite particular about who and what is laying down in their yard.

.004 Bisters Stands for Best Sisters

My two sisters and me all piled in the cab of Chelsea's truck driving to Vermont. Sitting hip-to-hip for approx. 4 hours makes for a very numb bum!

.003 iLove July 4th

The fireworks at the Lapinski's party this past July 4th

Ella loving the sparklers! They made for wicked cool pictures at night, including this one.

.002 Graduation

Colleen looking up at me while Mr. Scanlon attempts to direct the rest of her class before the ceremony begins.

.001 Proud Parent of a Sunflower

I remember when this was just a little seed, it flowered this week. Such an accomplishment!
